Hello everyone, and happy New Years. I am still very new to this forum and to Texas, having moved from Louisiana recently, but I thought I would take my chances and ask anyway to cover all bases. Does anyone have any recommendations on Bird Dog/ Retrieving Trainers here in TX that they would like to mention? I currently live in Central TX, and hunt in East Texas but also make my way into the DFW area quite often as well. With that being said I would prefer something close to me but I am eager to hear all suggestions. Lastly, I know this is a very repetitive question so thank you in advance for the help and your time.

If it's a birddog

Are you looking for a pointer trainer, or a retriever trainer?

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.

I have run into Buck volunteering at birddog club and NAVHDA training days, as well as running his clients dogs at pointer hunt tests. And judging my dog at hunt tests. And he did a wonderful job with a friends Vizsla. For pointing dogs, I have no problem recommending him as well.

I've heard good things about Best Retrievers for your lab. I have talked to Buck at Back Yard on the phone a couple of different times and he is always willing to listen to me and provide advice.

I also only call pointing dogs bird dogs.

Me too, but others use for flusher, and retrieves. So I asked the question.
