Looking at shooting 120-130 grain bullets out of a 20" barrel. Thoughts please.

No reason to do anything slower than 1/8. The only thing it won't stabilize properly from a 6.5 cm is the heaviest-for-caliber copper solids.

Ok, thanks. Little brother is considering one and I was trying to tell him that the 140 ELD Hornady match ammo was a good factory option, but I had no idea what twist to get.

I use a 1:8.5 and shoot 140's.
That twist probably has something to do with why I make more velocity than the usual 6.5 Creedmoor.

We're looking at factory rifles, so I was just wondering what twist rates are acceptable. Seems like most were 1:8, especially in the Savage lineup.
Thanks!

Follow-up question: why doesn't Tikka offer a 6.5 CM in their rifles? Or do they offer it and it just isn't on their website?

Follow-up question: why doesn't Tikka offer a 6.5 CM in their rifles? Or do they offer it and it just isn't on their website? They do offer it. They just don't import it regularly. You can get a big Tikka distributor to have one shipped over if you can find one that is willing to do so. As for twist rates, my Ruger Hawkeye Predator is a 1:8 and shoots 140 Bergers fine. Lots of discussion and good info at www.65creedmoor.com and a great bunch of guys.

Got it. Seen references on here and other places to them, but nothing on their US website. Weird. They would sell a ton of them.
