Heading to the ranch tomorrow even though the forecast is "severe storms" as ill be arriving at 630am. What y'all think the odds are of everything being tucked away deep vs me still stalking in on some hogs at the bait holes?

Go for it, nothing lost nothing gained. Rain might be a good cover.

I've noticed the rain usually brings them to the fields to root...

During heavy rains, I don't think your chances are very good to find hogs at bait holes. They will be hunkered down, most likely, until the storms pass. After the storms pass or during light rains, sure, you can find them out and about.

This is based on my hunting experience and when I see hogs on camera at my feeders, the latter being a much better sample size.

I got there just as the storms had passed. Saw one small spike cross my path as I was walking in though. Checked the cams and they seem to be hitting my spot around 1130 each evening. Im gonna have to start grinding brownie points with the mrs so I can cash in a night hunt. Maybe I'll have to sell her on me taking the 3 yr old "camping" one night5 lol

The most pigs I have ever seen in one spot was in a light rain.

I think it depends somewhat upon the time of year. In late Spring, when it's really too hot to find hogs out during the day, I've seen hogs in daylight in times of light rain. It cools them down enough so that they'll start moving and searching for food.

I haven't seen them out in heavy rain, but then I'm usually not out either if I have a choice.

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.

A light rain doesn't bother them. Rain with a lot of wind tends to make them hole up.

Light drizzling rain here today. I went to one of my bait sites to check my camera there and put out some corn. Hogs have been coming in the morning between 7-9 a.m.

But today....I walked right up on them at 1 p.m.

Part of the group saw me (I was still 40 yds. away) and ran a short distance. I just froze where I was and they all came back. I slowly backed out of there (had only my .45 acp with me) and let them feed. Went back about 4 p.m. to put out corn and retrieve the game cam card.

I'll go sit on stand sometime in the next couple of days. Hogs are really hungry now it seems. Cold front that is coming will cause them to feed more.

I've had them come to the feeder in the rain...
