Anyone use a single shot bolt gun? I've always used repeaters and I'm considering a single shot cooper because they're so much cheaper. Will I regret it?

I have used my single shot Cooper 6x45mm on a few predator hunts but the wood is so pretty I hate to use it much. It will cost you a second animal every once in a while but I am not that mad at them for that to bother me.

I'm looking at the Phoenix 21. I have a couple Coopers Excaliburs 54 and 52.
I use a Cooper Excalibur 54 243 as my main predator gun.
Looking at the 223ai.

I've got a 20 Tac by Cooper, and I don't mind being able to get a quick follow-up shot. Never have needed a follow-up on the first animal in the kill zone, because they're DRT. Fine, accurate rifle that I've hand loaded to give me the best accuracy my old eyes and nerves can deliver!

Never had a single shot bolt, but have had a few H&Rs. One shot is all you need!

I would stick with the 243 caliber, and unless you are in a hurry, start hitting up the pawn shops and wait until you find what you will like. I use a bolt action 243 for predator hunting, it is a beater, but accurate. I bought it years ago at a pawn shop, it was ugly then and uglier now, the stock even has a bolt through it to keep it from splitting.

Did you read my question or did you post this in the wrong thread? Let me know if you come across a Cooper Phoenix 54 or 21 in 223ai in a pawn shop. That would be a waste of time because they are hard to find period, let alone a pawn shop.
