It was chilly with gusting winds that would blow you off target. Even so we managed to get a few hogs and I managed to get my first badger as well. I have some unresolved issues with the badgers at this pecan farm. On a previous visit, I stepped into a deep badger hole and managed to do a face-plant as a result. Tonight, I evened the score. Overall, it was a lot of fun. About the only times things got serious was when we actually set up to shoot. It was a great way to finish out 2016!

A badger is about as stinky a creature as you will find, right up there close to skunk.

Well, they are closely related to skunks (same family: Mustelidae), but you know, I had never handled one before. It is definitely a unique odor unlike anything I have smelled before.

Badgers also have a bad attitude. That last hog did his own version of a face plant, nice shooting.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf

Good deal Brian. I had one last hunt and dropped one pig on new years ever myself. Had a lot of fun.
Retired U. S. Army, which means I still have to work to make a living.
