It looks like I might have a chance to get on a 2000ac lease in Paint Rock (Concho County). Anyone hunt this area and any input would be greatly appreciated.
Quality of deer? Any exotics? Javelina?
Thanks in advance
GOD Bless and Happy New Year

I hunted it twenty five years ago on the Samson Ranch. Some good deer there.

GOD Bless and Happy New Year All depends on what you are looking for and how the place has been managed. Most places can produce 120-130 with an occasional 140 mixed in if there is a good group of hunters. There are 2 local ranches that produce a 150 most years but I wouldn't expect that. Deer numbers are good, shouldn't have a problem seeing deer. Exotics are hit and miss, but there are some around. There aren't any javelina or hogs. Plenty of turkey

Sorry, there is some very good hunting in Concho County in the Painted Rock area. If you don't over shoot it you can grow some nice old bucks on 2000 acres. Javelinas are mostly west of San Angelo, I doubt if you see any, but possible. Some hogs along the river, but not many, turkey and quail is also purdy good.
