I have been hunting this buck for two years and he has yet to present even a shot at him. He looks old to me. Do you think he will die before next season?

When was the video taken? Date is wrong on there I am guessing.

Yes, I would agree he is mature, but only way he does before next season is if someone shoots him this weekend or he gets nailed by a car in the interim. He still has some years left in him.

Yeah, the date is wrong. I forget to reset it each time I change the batteries. The video is only a couple weeks old.

you can tell by his rump he is rutted down pretty good, but his neck is still thick. Has some muscle there. most middle aged deer will be thinner in the neck as they lose the mass over the rut, so this is a good example of a older buck who isn't as active in the rut as the younsters. Good old buck that knows how to elude the hunters, so far.

Who cares. If you want to shoot him then do it.

Baring accidents (vehicle vs deer) and he makes it through the weekend, IMO he will probably be 6.5 or older next year and a serious stud. In that short video I don't see anything that indicates a sick deer, looks healthy to me.

Thanks guys. He lives on my land, so he is not any danger anymore this year. I am all tagged out. Today was my last day to hunt And I took a nice 4 year old 8 point. He was an outsider not from my land and had one of those high narrow tacks

Have to go against the grain here and say he is no more than 3.5. Still have the racehorse legs. Should be a fine deer in the next year or so...
