I put a Vortex 4-16 PST FFP on the 260 a few years ago, and I like it. So...then I put a 6-24 PST on the 223 and sighted it in with 40 gr Nosler BTs. And then I shot 55 gr BTs and 65 gr Sierra GKs in it and found that 5 clicks up and 1 click right put both of them on the money. I'm pretty dang pleased. Now for some distance shooting to verify what the Ballistic app says.

For so long I said that I don't need no stinking turrets. Well, I guess I didn't need them, but I find that I like them. Dang...can't believe I'm saying this. They say that confession is good for the soul...

My Nikon has capped turrets. It's perfect for me. I can completely ignore them when shooting and hunting, but they make sighting in soooooo much easier.

Actually, i can see where good repeatable turrets would come in handy if you use multiple loads in a single rifle. The only rifle i do that with is the AR, and i have multiple optics with quick detachable mounts for different purposes. The optics remain sighted in for specific loads.

I've found that so far, hornady spire points are inch left and an inch low of the vmax. Once that is confirmed, it will make switching between bullets awfully easy.

I love turrets, all the time. Hunting, shooting, sighting in, I've never regretted having turrets.

I can't tell you how many good ol boys tell me the turrets are just for looks... But, I love dialing and aiming a POI knowing my bullet will hit there instead of using the old Kentucky windage.

Won't be able to hit a barn any further than 200 yards out.

It's been quiet and dull around here. I think this too shall pass.

OP, welcome to the fun side. wink

It's a slippery slope, though. If you're not careful you'll end up neck-turning .338 brass before you know it.
