Hate to appear stupid but does this mean I can shoot does and any legal buck during the late muzzleloader season in Hunt county? The Texas Parks & Wildlife website reads; "Antlerless Deer: General season buck limits apply, Antlerless permits required only on MLD lands"

I would like to know this as well. I hunt Gregg county and have the same season with it reading 'antlerless deer:General season buck limits apply'.

It means what it says. If you are not on a MLD property, then you do not need a doe permit.

Yep, I wish. Almost reads like it is only about antlerless deer and not bucks.

Yeah we got that part but what about the "buck season" comments. All "late" seasons I have hunted in other counties were doe and spike only. I've not seen this wording before

I am sure the regulations book has an extra statement included that makes it more clear. It says something of the nature that the same rules that apply to the first two weeks of general season or Thanksgiving weekend apply. It is whatever days or weeks that are your counties doe days.

Just talked to Game Warden for Red River county, same statement for us. This is an extended general season for white tail deer by muzzle loader rifle only. Bucks or does may be taken at this time. Antlerless deer without permit unless on MLD property.

Read the outdoor annual they give you with your license its not that difficult to understand, if your county has a late muzzleloader season you can shoot legal bucks or does assuming you haven't already tagged out in your county.

You can get a doe. What that's saying is anybody who is on lamps can take does with their license tags.
