I've been using a combo of ivermectin and praziquantel in a paste. I'm not happy with how my dogs are doing and I'm thinking of switching to Safeguard or Drontal. Any other suggestions? I read that Fidos Closasole Broadspectrum is a good option too. Also what is the difference in Safeguard and Safeguard4?

I have been using ivermectin for 30 yrs,,, I give them a dose every 4 months----- my understanding is that is only for heart worms. I"ve never had a dog with heartworms.

Me too but you have to give it every 30 days-45 max. It works for all worms except tape-worms.

Just one dose a month applied at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades is all your dog needs for protection against fleas, heartworms and other parasites.

I use Safegaurd on the 15th and Zimectrin Gold on the 1st
