Anyone have a Magpul Hunter stock? Curious as to how you like them, weight, fit, etc. Been thinking of getting a couple for my R700's.
Thanks

I just put one in a 700 Varmint. Not sure about it yet. The action seems to fit high in the stock, the comb is a little too high for my liking, otherwise it seems fine. Haven't shot it yet.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I've ran about 75 rounds thru mine. I'm liking it so far!

I have one on a 10/22. It's lightweight and fits good. Love it on that rifle. That said, when it's cold out that stock gets really cold and feels slick in my hands. Not sure I'd want a heavy recoil rifle paired with it in the cold or rain.

How heavy does it feel, Tex? One thing I like about it is that it comes with DBM for about $280. Seems like a good deal for the price. I looked up Grayboe...they look nice but don't come with bottom metal and mags. Guess I would have to buy those separately and would be about $150 more.

I like the stock mostly because it seems to be a perfect mix between a precision & a hunting stock. The stock w/bottom metal & mag feels really light. I have a heavy bbl 20", a Triad stock pad, LaRue/Harris LT706 & a tank of a scope (XTR II 4-20x50 w/34mm tube). W/all this it weighs quite a bit but that's not due to the stock.

I dont think the Magpul stock comes with bottom plastic and mag by default unless you're buying a package deal. The only thing I didnt like about the stock was the grip bc its not adjustable and not vertical enough. I contemplated using the Magpul bottom plastic in my Grayboe but it felt and looked very inferior to real bottom metal. The Magpul 700 stocks Ive held are pretty light so they are fine for low recoil rounds. Not sure about a 300wm...

I have had one for quite a while now. Rem AAC-SD 308. I love it. Setup is incredibly accurate. Features are all nice. Bit heavy but its a heavy contour rifle. Grip is ergo perfect. With the weld (optional) adjustments and the LOP adj its a perfect fit. I could recommend it.

Thanks for the info, guys. I used to be in the heavy barrel crowd, but the last several years I have gotten more into thermal hunting and walking a lot while I hunt so lighter weight gear has become more valuable. I traded all my HB AR's for lighter contours and have 22" barrels on my hunting rifles, but plan on cutting those down or trading for 16-18" barrels and wanted to make sure the Magpul stock wasn't too heavy. Appreciate the feedback.

Correct, I found the stock plus bottom plastic and mag kits for $280.
