I tried a HD38A so know what that unit is like.. Anyone try the 38A and 19A and like the 19A better? Running the 19A at 2X, would be the same as the 38A an base magnification right? Just wondering if for hunting say 400 yds or less it's worth it to go for the 38A, or save $1000 and go with the 19A..

If you said hunting 200 and less I'd say maybe consider it but I found the 38 and 50 to be a significant upgrade over the 19. I hunt usually 200 to 1000 as far as the spotting part of it. Usually stalk in and shoot within 200.
