I've been a duplex guy my whole hunting life, in my 45th year of it as we speak. Due to Black Friday sale at SWFA, and the many accolades they receive, I went over to the dark side and ordered a 3-9xHD SS MQ. I understand the mil/mil deal, just never used it, but now is the time.

Question: I'd love to see the dope charts you guys are using, if you don't mind posting a pic. Interested in yardage intervals, wind, dope, etc. Thanks in advance.

I use Hornady's but there are plenty other. Choose advanced in the 2nd drop down to add wind, temp and elevation. If you use basic you will just get drop at sea level.

I have a couple of ballistic applications on my Android phone.
Some are free and I like steloc+.
It is a lot easier than a pc or print outs at the range.

Thanks. Hornady is what I've used for the CDS stuff I've fiddled with. It'll go on a 243 then 7-08. As for the Fireman, that's about what I expected out of him.

JG,

I bought the same scope on Black Friday. Received it Monday. Very impressed from the initial quality.

Argue, bash, belittle, then want people to just hand over DOPE obtained over many years.

Yeah right.

Scott,

It'll do a great job for you, for many years. Feel free to PM me again, if you need any help.

I use 'Shooter', it covers everything including being able to download weather from the nearest weather station. Also like that you can dial holds very quickly as well as enter actual holds to determine velocity. Never used Hornady, it may offer the same, dunno.

.3 at 200
.7 at 300
1.3 at 400
2.3 at 500

That's as far as I've shot I've shot othe bullets as well and they're all pretty close to those #s so far

I don't need the actual dope, I've already got it. I was interested in the makeup of the actual chart. Sounds like I need to send the Waaambulance for you ASAP. Show me where I belittled anyone, or bashed anyone. I'll be patiently waiting. You have a propensity for getting banned I saw?

I appreciate all the help guys.

I have 3 of the SWFA Mil/Mil Quad scopes. There is nothing different about them (as far as charts go) than any other riflescope that uses a Mil system. Basically, a Mil is a Mil.

This is what I do. For LR shooting I use the Shooter app on my iPhone. Generally I dial elevation and hold wind. Basically I use the app in the beginning, shooting, verifying, and trueing up the app until it jives with what I am seeing in the field. I tweak it until it fits the trajectory, the bullet doesn't lie. Then I use the Applied Ballistics Point Mass Ballistics Solver program on my computer to print charts that coincide with the app. I will print a long detailed chart to go in my shooters logbook. I also verify this over time as well, and tweak if needed.

I also print a fast and dirty chart that I tape on my stock for quick shots and hunting scenarios. It normally has dope out to 600 including 10 MPH wind holds. On it I use 50 yard increments out to 300, and then 25 yard increments out to 600. You can extrapolate between those numbers pretty quickly if you need to for elevation, and double or half (or whatever) for wind depending on speed and angle.

A friend of mine uses a "Wrist Coach" that has his drop charts in it, basically he wears it on his forearm and can flip to whatever chart he needs quickly. Kind of like a quarterback does.

Sometimes I put a column on my chart for how many Mils 18" covers at different ranges. That is a quick reference for range estimation on game since an average coyote is about 18" from ground to top of shoulder, and an average deer is 18" from belly to top of the shoulder.

But really, your charts should be tailored to your style of shooting and what you want/expect the rifle to do for you. My charts for my different rifles are different from each other, because I use them for specific things, and they are tailored to that. Hope that helps.
