Give more details on the location of your new lease. Where I hunt in Nacogdoches, we do not have many hogs. However, the hogs are not far away. I only hunt on 50 acres and I see plenty of deer. You have to find the travel areas with all of the acorns on the ground. The corn feeders have been an after thought during rifle season so far. They will start hitting the feeders better pretty soon though. All of the bucks that my dad and I have harvested have been away from the feeders. The younger bucks say under 3.5 years will go to them, but once they get 4.5 plus they get nocturnal on the feeders. The buck I harvested 2 weeks ago there was 75 yards from the corn, but he was looking for girls that might have been there. If you are near any of the river bottoms in the area, you will have lots of hogs. If you are on the higher ground of the area, you will see less hogs. Hope this helps. BASSHAWK

It's out somewhere off of FM 3228 if that helps. Yeah the lease I just picked up is over 200 acres for me and one other buddy of mine and I plan to set up a feeder or two and him as well but I will most likely hunt off of them on game trails and wherever there is other sign. I will have all year to pattern the deer so I should be alright come deer season next year but you never know. I hope there are hogs there because it'll be a long year with no piggies

Many years ago hunted off of FM 1275 (I believe that was it) - south side of town. Had pigs fairly regularly.

Some pretty good deer come from that stretch from the loop down to the river every year. You should have hogs if you have any drains or creeks in that area.

I used to hunt not too far from there. Saw deer all the time. I used to have a picture (a real film picture from a film style game camera) with 7 buck in the same picture. Must have been one huge bachelor group. Also, if it's anywhere near the golf course, there are deer crawling through there like crazy.

That is South of the Loop, not too far out of town. Should be OK.

Depends on which side of FM3228 you are. LaNana Creek is to the West just a little ways, but there are few (if any) water sources to the East of it....until you go quite a distance.

Hogs are present throughout the County...but more common in some places than others.

Get some game-cams up, scout the property in February for 'sign'. You might find some sheds, the vegetation will be short...allowing you to see the farthest. Last years 'rubs' will still be present. Hog sign will be evident if there are any. Remember...hogs must have water fairly close by.

Locals should be able to give you accurate information. I've hunted 'Nac' county for over 30 years...but not that part of it.
