I have a Remington 11-48 in 20 gauge and second time it is hung up trying to eject the shell.

Four things to try first: buttstock off and check the recoil spring and tube for rust and gunk; check the magazine follower, tube and spring for gunk and binding; clean or replace friction ring; check to make sure the magazine tube cap is on tight and there is no play back and forth in the barrel. I have made the assumption that you have already oiled and checked the bolt for binding on something. Good luck!
