Had some good luck this morning. Got tired of hunting in a box blind so I told my dad to just drop me off, and I'd walk through the woods where I had never hinted and see if I could sneak up on one. This is the second time I've killed a buck sitting in a lawn chair.

This was my deer stand.

Nice. A couple more details. Where did you put the chair?

Watching a trail, tree line, water?

Hear him, shot distance.

I have been wanting to try this

I got on a deep, dry creek (6 ft on each side). There were trails on both sides of the creek and it was a point where they could cross easily. He came not through any of the trails but some THICK brush. He basically just appeared in my peripheral vision. Shot him at 40 yards right as he stepped into an opening in the brush.

I had never sat at this spot before, so I had no idea what to expect, just knew the wind was right. I also found it in the dark. As the sun came up, I saw an old deer stand in the tree next to me. Figured I must be in a good spot.

The old stand.

Great buck and good job getting out of a blind and away from a feeder!
