 Great Grandpas rifle still getting it done

A few years back my Dad handed down to me my Great Grandpa's Marlin octagon barreled 30-30. It has a four digit serial number, and was made in 1893. The rifle is still in good shape and safe to fire. I decided that I would try to kill a deer with it every year for as long as I can. I was successful again this year. Not too bad for a rifle that is 123 years old. Hope my Great Grandpa would be proud.  Here is a pic of my Great Grandpa with the buck he shot. He is the one standing up on drivers side. I believe the rifle hanging from his bucks antlers with muzzle towards the ground is the rifle that was handed down to me.

Great job of keeping the legacy alive. Hopefully you have a child or grandkid that will keep this going after you've retired from the field.
