My stamp is in. Looking for a light 16" .22

I'm leaning towards a bolt gun. I hate savage but there is one about $250 I like or should I jump up to the cz around $400?
Could spend less of course , what to look at?

Ruger American is one to consider.

I've got a Remington 541-S for that use and never regretted the extra $$. In your shoes, I'd bump up to the CZ.

Browning T-bolt carbon fiber or the Ruger American 8334 for half the price at about $285.

No way I would consider a CZ after how my 452 17HMR shot.

Savage makes a pretty cool bolt 22 with a threaded barrel. I prefer semi's.... I have a 10/22 and a Remington 597 AAC-SD that I SBR'd with a 10" barrel.

Bolt for sure. I have an tried both, in addition to many pistols. I basically only use my 22 can on my cheap little savage fsvr, or something like that. I won't get into which bolt is the "best" but hands down bolt.
My 10/22 did ok with some ammo but had cycling problem, especially with subsonic. If supreme silence is the goal, subsonic in a bolt is the best choice.

I have a Savage and Ruger 10-22 threaded. I recommend one of each.

Semis are fun with a can, but if you want Hollywood quiet, go with a bolt gun. My CZ is super quiet, but I love the look of the Browning T-Bolt.

Hollywood quiet requires a bolt or singleshot, quality wet can, and 60gr Aguilas. But i dont live in hollywood so a Ruger 10/22 with TacSol barrel a decent can and bulk 22 ammo.

Or if you have a 10/22 and want to be hollywood quiet, you can use a bolt block. Basically turn it into a manual action.
Those savages and ruger americans shoot pretty good in my experience.

I have a Savage Mk2 FVSR bolt. It is super quiet and super accurate with my Spectre II (dry) and CCI Standard 40g. All you hear is the firing pin and the target being hit.

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

I love threaded 22's.

I have a 10/22, a 22/45 Lite, a Savage FV-SR and a Sig 522. Love them all but the Sig might be my favorite followed by the Savage. Subsonic suppressed 22 through a bolt action is really fun.

I am definitely a fan of CZs
we have 2 452s non threaded and I got a 455 threaded. Was using it today with a Spectre II. I love it!

My brother has a Savage threaded and I have a Savage 22 mag threaded, both are the model with the rail and larger bolt handle. They are all extremely accurate and reliable.

I am waiting on a Gemtexh Mist.to clear for my 10/22.
