Last 3 days I've hunted (last sat & sun and today) I have not seen another hunter or HEARD another shot. Public lakes mind you. 2 man limits each day. WHATS GOING ON AROUND HERE...

We had the same situation on Fork this past weekend. Haven't been yet this week.

They are all at my lake BDB. We actually just hold hands in a big circle now while we hunt. And the boats drive around in the middle to keep things stirred up. Enjoy it while it lasts..

1- Their deer hunting
2- Their spending time with family
3- Their waiting on more ducks to get down here for the 2nd half

Heck Fork wasn't a secret location, didn't kill much, didn't hear much shooting. Plus is any public water really a "secret"? Yes. Plenty of public holes left that people are too lazy to find. Which brings up, 2 years ago when the water was low, I consistently would see the same group of young guys on the walk out there. They asked where I was headed and it was visible from where they were so I told them. Their response was "yeah, we've been seeing a lot of ducks go in there". I said umm me too, so I'm going to go hunt over there. Walked past them probably 5 times that year with limits by 8, and not once did they bother the extra 3-400 yeard walk in the mud to get to the ducks  people are strange

Wish I've had that experience! This morning a friend and I took his father out to an easily accessible spot, by 4:30 there were already 6 vehicles at our parking area! Bailed and found a new spot at first light

Hardly any birds and almost no shooting. It was so slow 2 weeks ago there were 2 Game Wardens and a Sheriff at the ram checking people as they came in just for something to do.
