Shot my best and most mature buck to date. Not a record breaker, but he's a good representation of what's on our lease. The first day I saw him I took two shoots and missed on both. Turns out my scope was off, but thankfully I always bring a backup rifle. I guess shooting suppressed also helps because he stuck around for 10-15 minutes after both misses.

I decided to hunt the same location the following day but he never showed, so I thought he had been shot or moved on. He finally showed up the next morning and I was able to put him down. That morning the bucks were chasing hard, so it made for a great show. After drooping my buck, a younger 8 and fork horn locked up under the feeder. After they separated, the young 8 approached my buck with his ears laid back and looked like he was going to engage my deer on the ground. The young 8 was easily distracted by a hot doe running through the shooting lane so he took off like a rocket. I decided to try my hand at rattling, and was able to rattle the fork horn out to the shooting lane. I decided it was time to go get my deer and exited the blind. Well the fork horn didn't budge, so I walked to within 20 yards before he snorted and ran off.

After I shot my buck, I decided to hunt for some turkey and hogs as well. I shot two pigs (recovered one) and put two turkey down. It was total luck, but I shot two turkey with one shot. The turkey literally walk within 10-25 yards of my box blind everyday. I decided I would take them from my blind since I wanted a turkey breast to smoke.

All in all it's been a great week. My daughter killed her first deer, hog and coyote this week too. The worst part is everyone is giving me a hard time about taking three shots to kill the deer.

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

No Sir it only took one shot to kill the Buck, those other two did not do anything clap

Thank You
