my daughter & SIL just bought a small ranch outside of Carmine for recreational use including hunting. Any of ya'll familiar with good processors in that general area? They live in Katy, so anywhere from Carmine to Katy could be a possibility ... they normally travel up 99 to 290 or IH10 to Sealy and take 36 to 290. I am totally unfamiliar with the area and figured some on here could give a good recommendation.
also, anyone hunt in that general area? What kind of deer could they expect to see?

Not sure of any processors in that area or how good/bad the hunting is. I pick my son up in Carmine every two weeks for the past year and I have never seen any deer near the roadway or in any fields. That can't be a great sign

Bellville Meat Market on Hwy.36 is really good. Chappell Hill sausage on 290 does deer processing but I have never used them. Just like anywhere else, deer are where you find them. I have seen some really nice bucks taken between Carmine & Ledbetter.
In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

thanks! Their place is several miles north of Carmine and heavily wooded. They have seen a few deer and I suspect there are lots of hogs based on the trails leading to where the feeders used to be from previous owners.
I or my SIL will check out the place in Bellville and Chappell Hill. I know there's a place down around eagle lake that I have heard good things out of but that's a bit out of the way.
