Separate it while browsing. Add water and stew two to three hours. Add onions and seasoning and stew for 45 minutes. Add a pinch of sugar, tomato paste, and a beer. Season and add a can of refried beans when it done.

I start with browning some garlic in pan, then the chopped onions mix in the meat and brown. In a stew pot I start heating up the tomatoes ( sliced or stew kind), the chilies, one bag of chillie mix some diced onions, if beans add them (kidney, or whatever. After meat start to brown mix your preference on mild or hot chillie mix. After meat is done add to stew pot with other fixing.

Use Shiner as the base, no water. use regular chili powder, ancho chili powder, & chipotle(just trust me, the combo is brilliant)
brown your beef and add to pot, next saute the onions and garlic in the beef fat & add to pot. chop up jalepenos for your heat tolerance and add. add your spices and go low n slow. i like to add the juice of 2 limes to mine as well
