Any experience with this? I don't care to hear about what you read or what you heard at the last gun show you went to; I'd like to hear from folks who have either done a conversion to their 1911 or purchased a converted, or real Rowland from the manufacturer and have shot it, reloaded for it, killed some things with it. My son and I are thinking it might be a really good hoghammer and I'm wondering if it actually lives up to the hype we've read about it.

They work as advertised.. I would stick with good hardcast over softpoints for hogs.. I have done a lot of handgun hunting with varying calibers and my carry pistol out on the lease is a 45 with Buffalo Bore 255g +p hardcast that get it close to a 45 colt.
Also, check out 45 super ammo from Buffalo Bore, I haven't used any really wasn't that aware of it until recently.
I am putting together a project gun using a TC Contender pistol to run with a can. Original plan was 45 ACP with an 8" barrel and be able to run various 45 ACP ammo out of it, ball 230g for fun, steel, etc.. and up to a 45 super.
Now I am thinking Rowland as it will still run 45 ACP.
My experience has been that a 250g hardcast at 1000-1050 will punch through a hog's shoulders (though I prefer behind the ear shots)
Food for thought
