Just curious what is max weight you have tested this on and where the breaking point is? Also, where is the 6ft, 7ft, etc measured from?

Thanks!

I have tested them with 300 pounds. The weak point was the piece that went into the trailer hitch, but I fixed that weak point by using 1/4" square tubing for the part that goes into the receiver hitch. The measuring point is from the very top of the square tubing to the very bottom of the square tubing. The actual measurements will be 6'4", 7'4", and 8'4". The total ground clearance will be the measurement plus how far your trailer hitch is off the ground. Thanks!

Nice hoist, I like the design. You address a couple of issues I've had with similar "store bought" hoists. Namely when the pulley wheels are fixed to the frame if you are not careful you can crank they thing up too far into the wheel when hoisting the animal. I think that is less likely with your pulley design. Also of all things the last one I bought I can't even fully lower my tailgate when it's mounted - not easily anyways due to the rail top cover on the newer Ford truck tailgates. Looks like yours has enough clearance. I like the place to hold the hook too - none of mine have had that, nice idea. I would have bought from you if I had seen this before I bought my last one. I absolutely love these types of hoists. I've used them for 10 years now and they are a must for someone that is hunting alone.
