So have a house full of kids and a lease where snakes have been seen and Caruso kinda thick....I also have a pair of redhead snake boots that are still in great shape, above the soles.....soles themselves are coming apart exposing their innerds.

Anyone have any ideas or tricks on getting a little more life out of them? The outer harder part of the soles are 80% gone.

Take them to Bass Pro, they'll replace them for free. There is a documented problem with the soles which has been corrected. They replaced mine in August, no receipt, no questions asked.

Wish I'd known that. I just threw mine away because of that reason.

According to both Grapevine and Rockwall locations, over a year-I'm SOL. Call CS, of course they didn't know of any issues and said it was up to the store

Yup, average hospital visit after a snake bite is $10,000. That's assuming you only need 1 dose of anti-venom and no helicopter ride...

The place I hunt is tall grass and there's plenty of snakes out there this year. I bought a pair of blemished Chippawea snake boots for $150, that very cheap insurance IMO.

Lots of camo duct tape and glue. Get the snake covers, I think they are plastic, strap over the boots.

Get an old pair of jeans, and paint them from the knee down (just regular wall paint). A few coats and you've got snake proof pants!

With those, you can wear any kind of boots.

take them to a boot smith and have him put new soles in them?? Or buy new boots?? I'm assuming they are for your kids considering you mentioned you kids. Go buy everyone a new pair of Chippewa boots and be done with it. I've had my Chippewa's re-soled and they are still perfect.

Get them re-soled? It should be pretty cheap.

Ive got a pair of Redhead snake boots doing the same thing. Sole isn't just coming off, its crumbling to pieces, so I cant just glue it back on. Best option is find a shoe repair place and have them resoled. BUT, what I'm going to do is take a very cheap pair of boots I bought at a yard sale, cut the sole off of them, and gorilla glue them onto my snake boots.

House full of kids??? Make them walk in front of you picking up any thorns and that takes care of your worn sole problem. Put some used pvc pipe over their little legs so they are snake proof.

Second option is to go to Goodwill and get pair of sneakers and sew, hot glue or duct tape them to the uppers of your boots. However, doing this deprives your kids of the great outdoors, exercise, and quality time with dad.

Take them to Wayne at Wayne's shoe repair in Haltom City. He can fix-um up.

I've used stovepipe with good results. Cut with tin snips for proper length. TSC should have it. Cheap but works great.
