What do I need to bow hunt and is it even worth it? I have heard nice deer on public land is rare.

A bulldozer -

I hunted there a couple years back or should I say attempted to hunt there. I came in off one of the county roads. The corp had just bulldozed a fire break around the wma. I could walk "fairly" easily where they had cleared things out. But when I got more than 20-30 yards off the trail it got just too thick to really do or see much. I have heard talk of big deer also which is why I went scouting. I have never tried to enter or scout coming in from the lake. People have told me they have seen some monsters while fishing..... I suspect it will take several scouting trips to figure out where to hunt.
