Looking to take my father on an elk hunt next year. It has been a life long dream of his to shoot a large elk (330-350 class). We would prefer to hunt rifle or muzzleloader. Any recommendations on a quality outfitter who can give us a very good realistic shot at a bull of that caliber would be appreciated. We'd be open to buying a land owner tag if needed but putting in for the draw as a first option. Thanks in advance.

G - thank she for the pm. Open to public or private land, again wanting the best chance at a top quality bull.

Quite welcome. Either of those first 2 I gave you might get you that. It is just going to depend on how the animals are moving. The NM hunt are resident elk. That CO hunt you are usually looking at animals moving from high to low. I can't say enough good about the 3rd name I gave you. Not sure how your Dad can get along in some fairly tough mountains but they will work with you. Good luck.

BOBO - thanks for the recommendation. Have you hunted with them before? No but have friends that have. If you are looking for a 350 bull you need to look at places that consistently get to the 390 plus area. That would be the acoma or white Apache

Look at Bull Basin Outfitters in Kremmiling Colorado. Probably the best outfitter in the state. He has several ranches and price options. I have hunting with them and know a lot of people that have and never heard a complaint. Plus everyone I know got a good elk. Not sure of the website I always just google it.
