Heading out this morning on first hunt of season, and first time with my 2 daughters (10,15). Normally I'm thinking about the buck I hope to get, but this am I'm just thinking about them, and hoping they enjoy themselves enough to want to come back. I've never forced them into this and this year they finally want to come. Will update, hopefully with pics on my buck and their first does. Good luck to all the others heading out today. Be safe.

Well done, good luck. My 6yr old has been duck hunting with me a few times, but still tells me that "deer hunting sounds boring dad" lol

Ive been think of doing same. Two daughters 14 and 10. I think my strategy will be to waste the hunt to get them in tge woods, easy day, not to early, not to long sitting and go in town for lunch. Want to ease them into it.
I hope yall have a grat tine.

Mine got her first doe 2 years ago and her first buck last year. Now she's in high school and was on the drill team this year so she's been really busy and had no time. I'm not sure if she's going to ever go again as she isn't even talking about it but at the very least I have those memories from the first two years engrained in my memory. Those smiles after the kill shot are priceless!

I took my daughter on her first hunt opening weekend this weekend. Wasn't sure what she'd think of the whole thing, but after she took a buck, she was hooked. I was excited to know that it meant we would be spending lots of time together in the future in on the road in the truck and in the deer blind together.
Congratulations to you and your beautiful family.

Great hunt Dad. Excellent pictures. That sleeping in the truck pic - I remember those times with my girls.

Looks like you had an awesome time with two beautiful young ladies Congrats to you and your daughter Not trying to interfere but get the girls some warm footwear and clothing or they'll loose interest real quick if their cold

That is awesome. Congrats to the young hunter. Something about girls and hunting, mine want to kill everything. I thought when they went to college and eventually moved out that I would finally get to shoot something. Now they call wanting to know what kind of deer are at my feeders, or can they hunt exotics with me One thing is for sure, with girls, the freezer will stay full.
