Loc: Where the ducks are
Got home a few days ago from a great, public land, DIY hunt. We looked over a lot of smaller bucks throughout the week and saw a few nice ones. My brother put long stalks on 2 different bucks during the hunt, just wasn't able to connect before they got into the thick timber. On Tuesday, I was able to make a long stalk and cut this big buck off before he moved into a very thick hillside full of scrub oaks. One 240 yard shot with the 308 ended my hunt. This buck had zero ground shrinkage when I walked up on him.

A couple bucks we passed during the week

beautiful deer and sounds like an awesome hunt. impressive that y'all did that all on your own and didn't have to depend on a local guide to put you on deer, as you seem to have seen plenty of mulies ... you earned that trophy, and he's a great mule deer cheers
