If you haven't eaten at the Diamond R Store & Cafe in Zephyr, TX....put it on your bucket list. Homestyle fries, onion rings to die for, chicken fried steak to write home about, tasty Tex mex and pie to make your heart content....all in the excellent environment of a small town country store. Saturday night was my first trip and I'll be back soon!

The fried pickles at Peabodies in G'waite are just a tad better IMHO, I think they are the best I have ever had. We even get them with breakfast there, lol.

CATFISH FRIDAY! Either get there really early, or really late....anything in between is a long wait, but the food is great.
