Me and my family visited Guadalupe Mountains National Park this last Saturday. We hiked up to Smith Spring above the old Frijole Ranch. It is amazing the terrain change on the hike up to the springs. We all had a great time.

Great pics. I love that park. Everytime I drive to Ruidoso I pass by. Seeing El Capitan in the distance makes me want to stop but always in too much of a hurry. Some day I'll get there again.

my parents took me there as a teenager during the summer back in 2001... I want to go back as an adult so I can appreciate it a little more. I might even take my parents.

highly under appreciated national park. we hiked up to guadalupe peak on a family vacation back when I was 10 or 12. it was really cool and not too terrible of a hike. beautiful country indeed, and I've been the the summit of the highest peak in Texas. Thanks for sharing, I want to go back some time soon.

That's a great hike. The day we did it, it was 90-95 on the flats. Once you got in the trees around the spring, it was more like 75. Simply awesome place!
