To the persons shooting from the hay field at the intersection of CR 226 & 266. You shot and wounded several small deer with your rimfire 22's last weekend coming across our fence. We have seen your feeder on the fenceline and your shoddy blinds to do your illegal shooting from. The GW knows what is going on & will be on watch for you guys (persons). I don't call you hunters because all you are are scum animal shooters! You will have your day in court.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

Next time it happens my buddies & I have agreed to rush out our gate & block the only way in/out of that place while we call the GW. I will personally rearrange a face if we get any flack at all while waiting!

This sounds unwise and dangerous to me...

How old are these idiots? Do they lease or are they the landowners.

We believe that they are local "kids" since there is no camp, trailers, etc. My hunting bud was closest to this war zone Saturday evening & heard doors slam and one vehicle drive off; shooting had stopped. The brush is extremely thick along the treeline and inaccessible from our side so we couldn't walk it. He saw at least 2 wounded deer come from that direction. There are apparently issues between the landowners so we haven't discussed it with either of them.

That must be infuriating. On a different note, how is the hunting in Rising Star? I just got a new place in Comanche and this is my first season. Any info would be appreciated!

We have quite a few deer, lots of small bucks less than the AR though. I think we've shot 5 in the last 5 years that were outside 13". One 10 pt. my buddy had shoulder mounted, the rest we did Euro mounts. Pigs just appeared 2 yrs. ago, now lots of them. If we can stop the yahoos from shooting illegal bucks and yearling doe it will get better. Full blown rut going on now.

Yea, we would call the GW and sheriff first.

It's a shame that you have to worry about guys shooting yearlings but hopefully it will get better soon. I've only been on our new place for about 7 months but so far we have seen pigs everywhere. Heading down that way next Tuesday so hopefully I can catch them while they are still chasing.

I'm a little north west of you and having the same issues! Last two weekends sounds like a gun range after about 9 am. Hasn't really bothered the deer I have coming in but gets olds listening to it.

Has the shooting been coming from our direction? We have not been shooting at all, but those "kids" to the west have.
