How Trick or treat got his name... It was Friday evening November 4th and I was heading out for one last bow hunt before the general season opener and I needed to bomb one of my box stands to kill the wasps and to make sure I was ready for Saturday morning. After getting to my area of the lease and getting everything ready I start to head past a water trough and make my way to my box stand to set off the bomb before making my way to my bow stand. As I approach what I call my North feeder I could see a really nice 8 point buck standing under the feeder. The buck spots me and starts walking off so I get behind a tree and see where he goes. After walking off a short distance and staring at me he decides to head back to the feeder. Since I have to come back towards my North feeder after bombing my blind to get to my bow setup I decide to leave my crossbow and a trick or treat bucket of corn next to a large tree. After walking past my North feeder I could see the 8 point buck still hanging around and I thought to myself "I wonder if he will be checking out my bucket of corn when I get back". I make my way to my box stand and set off the bug bomb then head back towards my gear. As I get closer I can see the buck standing near my gear so I pull out my phone and start videoing as I walk closer and closer. As I get closer the buck notices me coming his direction and trots off a short distance and stops. I keep walking and the buck starts to make his way back to my bucket of corn. I continue to close the distance and so does he . I end up getting within about 10 yards and just stand there. Slowly but surely he gets closer and closer before finally reaching the bucket and begins to start eating the corn I blow at him a couple of times just to run him off and I grab my gear and head towards my bow setup. This is one of the coolest things I have witnessed in the woods and being that close to a very nice buck for our area was pretty awesome. I hope y'all enjoy the video of "trick or treat"

Very cool, you giving him a pass if he comes out? He actually came to my bow setup later that evening and ran off a 5 year old 9 point. Had plenty of chances at him but I was after one particular buck at that time. I went back and found pics of him last year and I am leaning towards him being 3 this season.

Not sure how, but they know when there is and isn't a threat; they always know.

Cool vid! Yup. Good luck getting that close to your shooter bucks on the hit list I have a couple of does that would do the same thing. They would hear me drive into my area and a few minutes later here they come in the road following me.
