I moved out of state a few years ago, and came home for a bit of visiting and hunting. Got a doe one morning, so wanted to duck hunt the next day even though I wasn't expecting much.
Was able to get out to a pond around Carbon that used to be great, but hasn't produced in a few years.
Looks like it will be good again. I didn't see any ducks anywhere else in the area, so I was pleased with our success, and we had lots of ducks at lst and birds working throughout the morning.
We left around 8:30 with 15 when the 3 of us ran out of shells, going through a box of shells each due to poor shooting and cleaning up cripples.
We whiffed on a group of canvasbacks too, which was encouraging to see that early in the season.
Good to be back, I miss my old stomping grounds.
