I bought some new feeders that have "The-Timer" in them. Everyone has spoke highly of them but everytime I go to lease they are froze up. I have not one but two doing this. I press the reset button and they seem to work for about a week and then they will freeze again. Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution other than taking them back?

I have 5 feeders with The Timer in them. They haven't given me any trouble other than the one the coon ripped out of the spinner box.

Been using them for years no problems, what exactly do you mean by freeze? A lot of times I have had the motor get in a bind with trash & dirt and not being able to spin. But never any problems with the timer itself.

I have one that acts similar to what you describe when the battery is low, and it reads 100% battery

And you might want to change out the backup battery. Seems like it's a AA. My Timer was acting up - not feeding - and someone on the forum suggested I change out that AA battery (or is it two?). No problems since I did that and used the reset.

I have 4 of them. All have had the same batteries in them for 4 years. Never a single problem. Agree with above. Check battery leads. Also might make sure one of the buttons isn't permanently "pushed in".

Change the internal batteries. Two AA inside the timer.

Get the #'s off those timers and call their Customer Service. Was reading on another forum where there is a bad batch of them that got out. I too have some problems with a couple that I bought a few months ago. Haven't had time to call and get the numbers to see if mine are in that batch. Other than that, the rest have been top notch.
I'm adding a link to the discussion over the Timer. Hope this helps.

I've used "The Timer" for 20 years with no problems until my last trip.

The display on one of my units went out. Changed all the batteries and fuses with no luck. Will try to get a replacement soon

I pulled my "bad" timer from my hunting box yesterday to get it ready for a return to the dealer, but to my surprise the darn thing was working fine. I guess the bumpy ride home on the ranch road shook it back to working confused2

I'd still replace it, if it went bad once, it'll do it again.

a little fine sandpaper to the battery leads inside the Timer and put in fresh batteries.

I have been running these after having several HCRs quit working and didn't have time to get them fixed. I have about 12 feeders running year around with half with the Timer and half with HCR. I usually replace internal batteries mid/late summer even if indicator shows good on those without solar panels keeping the 6v or 12v motor batteries charged. I have replaced several HCRs but never had a problem with the Timer (been running those for 4-5 years now). I just dropped off 2 HCRs at the factory in Burnet, they were repairable, $15 since out of warranty (likely 12-15 years old).

I've used them for years without a problem until last year. Bought 24, 18 were possessed. They'd reset to midnight and quit feeding. You could reset them and they'd work fine for awhile, then quit feeding again. Makes it hard to get all your deer on cameras when the feeders won't run consistently. Even harder to kill them.

I called West Texas Feeder Supply (who is the distributor) and they made no bones about it. They got a bad batch from the manufacturer. The number was big, but I can't recall exactly how many bad ones were sent out. WTFS sent me 18 brand new ones that weren't from the possessed batch and asked that I return the bad ones.

The manufacturer was supposed to be eating all the expense. Only thing is, WTFS has no way of knowing who got the bad ones so, if you did, give them a call and I'll bet they make it right.

I took them back and was told I probably got the bad batch. I was going to try and replace the batteries to see if it would work, but being 6 hours away I couldn't take chance of that not fixing them during middle of season.

Had 1 that would run about 200 pounds and then shut off like it would get hung up with the power on happend 3 times and would work again for two or three weeks and do it again. It was a flaw said others have had same problem so exchanged it.

Some issues have been made aware with 2015 models resetting and turning on and not turning off. Call them or one of their dealers and they will make it right.
