Honestly, Boerne sucks for restaurants and upscale bars. (There's the Longbranch for your basic Texas icehouse.) They can't get the spoiled kids to work. Somebody always tries to open something and it lasts a few months, usually, 'cause they want to only be open when they want to and basically just fill out a Sysco order sheet. 'Might as well drive a few more miles towards San Antonio to BJ's, Red Robin, and several other new venues at "The Rim" at IH10 and La Cantera Parkway. The bar at PoPo's (Welfare exit off of IH10) is acceptable and always has a game on. Good food too.

Don't know of a good sports bar there, but the Hungry Horse for a steak sandwich and a piece of pie is hard to beat. Otherwise, I agree with Creekrunner, head back toward San Antonio around the Rim. Several good places to eat there, but mostly chain joints.

we had a huge wedding there this Summer, most of us there from Wed to Sunday....
Pretty much anything on Main is a trap....
Fritzes BBQ is CRAP.....Rude Hs kids working there, but hey at least they are working...
We always had good meals at Hungry Horse...Very good burgers..Im a fan of their gizzards and Onion Rings..Chicken tenders that most ordered were really good as well..
Little Gretel German was always good..Very small place but they always accommodated us when we called to bring in a group of 6 or more...
Our Mexican go to was Don Ruben..really good mexican breakfasts and tacos...In a strip shopping center so dont let it scare you away...
Broken Stone Pizza was really good pizza again in a run down strip shopping center...
THERE are NO good STEAK Places in Boerne...head bach to BoBs in the La Cantera shopping center...

Can't go wrong at the Horse. Check out the Longhonrn Cafe. Casual setting with great bugers.

Saw some truck park on The Daytripper few weeks ago in boerne, not sure if it's one of these but they look promising:

Cypress Grille for food, amazingly good(only been once). It's not a sports bar though, I think they had a TV at the bar as that's where we ate, but I don't remember anymore. Eat there and then find a bar.

Random was on Daytripper: It has a good selection of craft brews. They usually have a couple of food trucks every night there with more options on weekends sometimes live music too. If the weather is good hard to beat the food and drink there. Usually there couple times a month.

Cypress Gill is very good food and a nice place but I do not recall TV's there at the bar.

Broken Stone Pizza is good pizza if you can stand the wait, cannot recall if they have beer there or not.

Dodging Duck has good beer brewed on sight along with good food but if you are looking for sports you are out of luck.

There is also a new Meat Market near Main Street and Bandera that is always busy but never had boots on ground.

As has been stated there are lots of dreamers running establishments in Boerne.

Random gets my vote, covers all the bases you are looking for.

Boerne is a tough one. Drink Texas Boerne is good I have heard, Little Gretel is good eating and german beer, Longhorn Café is ok, Random is a neat place, PoPos is the BEST food around Boerne.

One more if you want higher end dinning Peggy's on the Green is higher end dinning. Rumor is very good and the building a landmark in Boerne.

The best eats for Boerne is Dairy Queen, if that tells you anything. The runner up is Whataburger. It is very sad that Boerne cannot provide a restaurant that has a great selection of enjoyable cuisine.

I haven't been to boerne for a couple years, but there was a convenience store at Hwy 46 and the business loop. There was a meat market/BBQ place inside. Believe it's called Riverside
