Long time reader on the forum, but I seldom post. Figured I'd share, though. Shot this 8 pt on Friday evening at our place just South of Schulenburg. Not a real wide guy, but he's got some pretty good height on his G2 and G3's. Pretty excited about him, though. We don't get real big deer at our place, so I couldn't pass on this guy.

flehan Very nice!

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.

Thanks guys! Also, pretty pumped because I got to break in my new rifle on this fella. Got a new Browning AB3 .270. 1/1 so far!

That's a great deer, good to see a solid buck coming from that area. I have some family in Washington County, they say the deer herd and buck age structure/antler quality has really gone up lately. I believe that the original counties to implement antler restrictions were in that region, from what I hear its been a raving success and the dividends are really starting to become apparent the last several years. There I said it, antler restrictions are good and they work stir

Anyways, really nice deer, congrats on getting it done cheers

I really feel like people in the area have been passing on young deer, as wel, so they're getting an opportunity to grow a bit more. That's the downside in our area, if you pass on a deer, chances are it'll hop the fence and get shot elsewhere. That's what made me decide to take him.

He's an aquatic buck, you've never seen one?! I noticed it too, we have some moss near the creekbed, so I assume that's what it's from. He was chasing 2 does up from the creek, so he probably brushed against something there.
