Heads up fella area hunters. I saw a 3.5 year old, 8 point chasing a doe in the middle of the afternoon at about 1:30 yesterday. That evening I saw a 6 point 2.5 alone but showing rut type activity. Then at 5:45, I shot a nice, mature 8 point that was following a doe. The processor in Archer City said hunters are reporting chasing all over the area. I saw another buck chasing a doe on the drive back to camp from town. The ruts kicking in, and with the approaching full moon on Monday, I think the rut will be in full-swing in a few days. Get out in the stand and sit out all day if possible.
