Good Morning... Have been creeping on this site for a few months and finally decided to sign up and join you guys. I wanted to run my situation by you and see what you guys would recommend if you were in my shoes...

I live in Amarillo. I love to deer hunt, but have never shot a deer. I have had a few opportunities over the years, but am going to be pretty picky about what I shoot. My current problem is i just don't get to go much. Possibly once a year or so. I've thought about paying for a lease, but with two young kids at the house I'm just not sure how much I would get to use it. It's hard to justify paying good money for a lease, feeders, feed and everything else if I can't get there to use it or maintain it as much as I would like.

Do you guys think I should just bite the bullet and get into a lease or are there other options out there for a busy guy like me that isn't exactly close to any hunting.

There are lots of places that offer day hunts for does. Would cost you a whole lot less that getting a lease and getting it all set up.

welcome

I agree that a day hunt would be best.

I think that there is some good public land in your area and it is cheap enough to get a permit and check it out.
