Been at work for a month, getting off Friday finally. Going hunting Wednesday through Thanksgiving. How has the hunting been? I see from other threads there hasn't been any rain in the area. Going crazy to get out there, not really worried about shooting just want to be there instead of here. Like always I have tons of things to do once I get there, just built a new shop/camp, need to finish electrical, plumbing, etc. between hunting so no all day hunting.

Saturday was slow. Sunday morning had does and youngsters moving.

One of our lease members stayed and hunted Monday. He said thunderstorms rolled through with wind, hail and rain. Overall, it was warm and muggy. Not a lot moving. We need some cooler weather to improve things.

I talked to several others that hunt the general area and the consensus was pretty much the same...Slow.

Thanks Land Pirate maybe they're waiting for me. Some of the best movement I've seen over the past years of hunting the property has been near thanksgiving then shuts down in early December then back up again last two week of December and the last week of the season is usually good but nothing special.

It's was slow last weekend, hot and still really green, but the overall quality of bucks continues to trend up the last few years based on what we did see.

The area got a good amount of rain early this week. I'd expect a slow year until we get into December and some of the habitat starts to die off from colder weather. At least that's what I've experienced in past warm, wet years in Live Oak County.
