I know very little about this maker. I'll soon have my hands on one in .270. It's old and been in a relatives safe forever, shot only when new. I plan on shooting it and checking zero then may keep it for family to use. Anyone have pros/cons on these?

A Parker hale is a fine gun based on a 98 Mauser action.
Use it as any 270 I think you should like it.

Great gun. Know it well.
My Mom wanted to buy my Dad a gun for Christmas in 1973(?) and asked a friend to pick one out. The choice was a Parker Hale (Model Sport Rifle) in .30-06. Dad then put a Leupold 3X9 Vari X II Goldring scope on it.
Dead straight on shooting rifle. I have three or four friends that dropped deer with it. Anyone that ever shot that gun always commented how smooth and accurate it was.
