Don't know if it's been posted already but saw this was shot in Iowa yesterday.

Estimate it to score 190-230

I don't know if my old heart could take it if I saw one that big.

Well... that's a hoss for sure. Could definitely be a bow world record. But in these days of pen raised protein feed bucks, I'd like to know the full story.

From some of the comments on it, sounds like it was free range down the road from an outfitter

Wow. Congrats to Austin on this toad! Here's the story so far from F&S:

Field & Stream posted 3 hrs ago ·
World-Record Iowa Whitetail?
We know. We've seen our share of would-be world records, too. So nobody is telling Milo Hanson to move over. But take a good look at this colossus. Our friend Tony Sehman at Thunder Ridge Outfitters in Southern Iowa (iowadeerhunts.com) tipped us off to this enormous buck, taken just down the road from him in Truro, by a young hunter named Austin Pontier. Early rumors put the deer anywhere from the high 190s to 230 gross. If it proves nearly as big as it looks in the photo, Pontier's buck will have at least a shot at Mell Johnson's 51-year-old archery, typical world record of 204-4/8. Maybe even Hanson's all-time mark. Maybe. Stay tuned. —Scott Bestul, whitetails editor #RutReporters2016

A ton of mass(50"+???) on that buck, long beams and good spread with enough tine length to get over 200" maybe even 210". Don't see 230 but he is huge no doubt. Deducts will hurt him a bit on net.

STXranchman, you are an outfitter correct? When you price a deer as an outfitter do take into consideration typical vs non typical? Would a 200+ price bracket include a deer like this?

Not an outfitter anymore. If an outfitter or ranch new they had a buck that big they would price it accordingly. Yes a huge typical would bring more money than a huge NT for me since I like typicals. Most any landowner would shoot the deer themselves and not even consider letting anyone else hunt it here in Texas LF.

That's what I was thinking and I would pay a lot more for that guy.. I am with you and like typical over non-typical. My exception to that is typical up top with a drop time and my dream ( same as everyone else) would be a double drop time.

I am just not that big of a fan of a drop-tine. I have killed 2 bucks with small ones-2" and 3.5". I prefer a big clean heavy mass typical like this one. This one is even more of my style since he is a 7x7 and those are rare. His mass is just unbelievable and long beams on top of it.

I let a friend shoot a Mule Deer two years ago even though I saw one droptine...he ended up with matching drops one on each side.

Was just talking to my stepdad about this buck and he pointed out the one point on his right beam isn't centered on the beam. Will probably make it a non-typical since that's what made the King buck a non typical

This buck is a 7x7 typical with a possible split left browtine and one nontypical on the right beam next to the G5. Those would both be deducts off of the net typical score for a final net typical score. It will hurt his net typical a little but still be a huge net typical. A lot bucks that are netted typical have one or more NT points that are deducts. B&C is about symmetry first so that is sided more towards bigger net typical score. A NT would still score a net typical score then add in the NT points. IMO this buck would probably net book both ways as a typical or NT.

What would they do if a pen-raised buck monster escaped and was shot in a LF area and no one came forward admitting it? How would they prove it didn't qualify?
