Had a friend ask me to hunt last minute, was on Friday.
I packed up Saturday morning and got me a tender doe that evening( 4 hour drive). I might get 25lbs of meat once processed. I am super happy.
Have not been able to shoot a deer in 4 years.
Had a great time and very thankful for friends.
Hope you guys are successful and get what you are looking for. I quit "eating" horns a long time ago.
Can't wait for venison Chili!

I shot a yearling doe last year. She ate just fine. Kind of a funny story.
Had to borrow dads very expensive fully custom rifle for a hunt last year, his rifle has a jewel trigger set at just over 1#. He reminded me how light it was, and I dry fired it a bunch to get used to it. Well I forgot when I had a deer in front of me. Was aiming for the mature doe, and shot 4' over her back. She bolted, but the yearlings didn't know what to do, so I made lemonade out of lemons and dirt napped a baby.

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.
