What is the best "match striking" "bang for the buck" 22LR? I'm looking at CZ 455s on their site, particularly a CZ 455 American Synthetic.

I'm a big fan of CZ. However, if the CZ isn't any more accurate than a Ruger 77/22 then I would just get that, since I have a 10/22 and the mags are the same.

Just from my experience, it isn't all about which rifle is more accurate; but more about which rifle shoots your preferred ammunition most accurately.

We get different groups with my 10-22, my FIL's 597, and my cousin's old Marlin 60. We only shoot bulk Winchester, Remington, and Federal ammo.

That being said, we really don't get very scientific about it. I have no load or round data at all. The only thing I know for sure is that my cousin is a better shot than either my uncle or I; regardless if which rifle or cartridge is offered.

I have a savage FV-SR, it's boringly accurate. Since it's a mag feed bolt, I can shoot the CBs all day without a FTF and it's already threaded for a supp when I finally decided on one. I never could get the CB longs to eject reliably out of my 10/22 so a sold it. Plus it helped my son alot when it came time to move up to his 6.5

CZ's have the best trigger IMO. I've owned Savage FV-SR, Ruger 10/22, and a CZ 452 trainer which I still own.

My CZ shot the best of the 3 so I kept it. The rifle is extremely accurate but my favorite part is the craftsmanship. With the Savage the bolt was so rough it wasn't fun to work and the Ruger was great but I wanted a bolt.

The CZ is smooth, has an awesome magazine, shoots lights out, and is not much more price wise. I thing it's well worth the money especially because I shoot 22lr more than any other round.

Since you mentioned the Ruger 77/22, you might look at the Ruger American Rimfire. I have one and at 50 yds, I can keep 9 out of 10 in a one inch square with cheap, bulk ammo. I haven't tried quality ammo in it, but I would have to think that it would tighten up a bit.

The CZ's are said to be very accurate, if the shooter is capable. If I'm minute of squirrel head with a rimfire, I'm happy.

I run a 7rd mag fed marlin bolt action 22 with the micro grooving. super accurate at 50yds even with the cheap tasco scope Ive had on it for years. I love it. think there pretty cheap to.

My Savage shoots very well, if you give it good ammo.

However, I asked this very question last year, for a .22lr bolt action for my daughters. CZ was the most recommend brand to buy.

I have a CZ 455, and my dad has the Savage FV SR. Both are incredibly accurate, but the fit, finish and feel of the CZ is heads and tails above the Savage. You pay for it though, at nearly twice the cost. After having shot both, I would still pick the CZ any day of the week.

I recently bought a CZ 455 lux in .22wmr, the trigger is great and the over all look and quality is amazing.

Anschutz. Blows everything else out of the water.

I love my CZ 455, though mine is in .17HMR.

I've got an Anschutz model 164 Sporter that I'm just about to sell due to needing cash for Christmas. OP - PM me if you're interested. Really nice looking sporter rifle with a great trigger that's super accurate. Cheap Wolf Match ammo ($7 per box of 50) has given me some .3"-.4" groups at 50 yards. It will shoot .75" groups at 50 yards with just about any decent ammo, but it really loves the Wolf Match.

I think I used to use "Eley" (sp) in mine with incredible results. Bit pricy though.

I can't stand a bolt action 22. Give me a semi auto every time. I would love to have a 10/22 but I just can't seem to get past the Marlin 60. I keep winding up with them. I was about to buy a new Ruger last year and won a Marlin at a clay shoot.

I didn't even try the expensive stuff after it shot the Wolf so well. I have heard that Eley is basically 1-hole ammo with the Anschutz rifles though.

I would have said the same thing before getting this 164. It's so much fun to shoot though.
