We got into the blind about 6:30 and by 7:15 we could see deer moving around the feeder. At about 7:45, my 15 year old grand son, using "grandpa's black rifle," put this little feller on the ground with one shot. Deer didn't run 15 yards! A well placed shot with the 7.62 X 39 (my favorite hog hammer) took care of business real fast. He also got to field dress him, which, although it is not his favorite part of the hunt, he knows it's just as much a part of it as buying camo clothing, reloading, zeroing the rifle, getting up at the crack of dawn, stumbling around in the dark, and listening to his grandpa wheeze while we wait for a deer to show up! Fun time for all: kids, parents, and grand parents.
