Checked my big trap this morning and discovered two young boars rooting around in it. I sent them both to Hog Heaven with one of Hornady's best 123 grain bullets launched from my 7.62X39. Both went down hard; one was still twitching a bit so I terminated his twitching session with the Taurus Millenium 9mm and a handloaded HP. Pulled them out of the enclosure and was going to go get my front end loader to carry them off, but decided to just drag them to the boneyard, since no one from H for the H wanted them, and my freezer is full. This may redefine the term "drag queens:"

In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years.

Nice those looked like good eating size as well. I can't afford not to supplement the protein in my household. Good to have a full freezer you filled with your own effort!

The real question is.... did you get the opportunity to cut loose on them with your slide fire stock?

The real question is.... did you get the opportunity to cut loose on them with your slide fire stock? fill, I don't use the Slide Fire on the hogs inside the trap. If I start spraying down the area with 7.62X39 bullets, chances are that more than one or two of them might wind up doing damage to my T-posts and/or cow panel that I built the trap out of. I reserve the use of the Slide Fire for when I come across a sounder of "free ranging" hogs. I can usually get 3 or 4 of them down if they're packed in pretty tightly. Normally one lethal, one shot kill, and a couple mortally wounded that I have to use follow-up shots on to get them on in to Hog Heaven.
