Nice, I bet the light gives you a little trouble mounted below the barrel. I would side mount it. Otherwise, good looking gun.

The light mount is adjustable, left, right, up, and down. Just mounted the scope a few minutes ago. Took it outside and watched a skunk 250 yards out.

Nice looking setup. Not sure I would mount anything to the barrel but different strokes for different folks.

The light can be used as a barrel tuner.

Bring a tape measure and the tool required to fasten the light to the barrel with you to the range. Set up a target with multiple aiming points or bulls.

Fire a two-round group at one of the bulls, then move the flashlight mount 1/2" forward or back. I usually measure from the end of the barrel. Shoot another two-round group at another target, moving the flashlight mount down the barrel in the same direction, re-tightening it each time.

Keep doing this - and you will notice the groups either opening up or closing. Go in the direction that closes up the groups until they start opening again, then go back to the measurement that gave you the best groups. That is your "sweet spot" for that particular load.

At this point, if you want to get the best groups humanly possible, you can test again around that "sweet spot" with 1/4" or even 1/8" increments.

If you switch over to a different load, you will need to go through this process again, it generally only works for the load that you did the testing with.

In this way, the barrel-mounted flashlight can cause your rifle to shoot better groups than it would without it.

If you do not make this adjustment - then chances are high that the flashlight will reduce your accuracy. - This is why many shooters will argue against mounting a flashlight or anything else on the barrel. It almost always reduces accuracy, as chances are high that it will not be in a "sweet spot". By using the flashlight and its mount as a tuner though, you will have the last laugh as it will actually improve your rifle's accuracy instead.

Then you can look forward to the next well-meaning criticism, as you can then explain that it has actually improved your rifle's accuracy, and how you verified that this is so. Some will catch on right away, and others will not get it and shake their head like you are a few bricks short of a full load.

We tried hunting hogs one night, and I had to mount my light on the underside of the barrel as well. I tried it on top of the scope, but my 30-06 has a front sight post and would reflect back into the scope. No hogs that night, but 4 or 5 coons took some leads.

I'll check it out and report back. Never had an issue in the past mounting a light on the barrel but always interested in trying something new. I just really didnt want to mount on that scope. The cheap light scope mount will no doubt leave ring marks.

Great set up!!! I also, would never mount anything to the barrel directly. It WILL change up the harmonics and can easily effect your accuracy and POI. When mounted under the barrel like this, it will also be in the way or the light blocked when resting the rifle on something in the field. I hunted like this at night, and mounted the light on the top of the scope tube. This worked very well. If worried about ring marks, put electrical tape or something between the rings on the light for protection.

do you shoot with the flashlight installed all the time?
It would seem a waste of time and ammo to do all the work then have a totally different POI once the light is removed.

Ive hunted varmints 25years and have never had an issue mounting a kill light on a barrel. I do not have the light mounted on day hunts. If POI changes I've never noticed. I am curious to see if and how much itll change. As soon as I fill my buck tag i'll be out back at the range testing the theory. May be a few weeks but i'll test it and report back.

x2. Speaking from experience you will get a shadow and reflection in your scope when it is mounted under or on the side of the barrel. When I hunted with a kill light in the past I got the best sight picture and illumination when mounting the light on and above the scope as far forward as possible.
