Dad hunted that area for over 20 years. Rut should either be peaking right now or maybe even slightly past peak.

I've lived in Freestone Co for over 40 years, and the rut almost always peaks around the 1st of November. That being said, the best hunting is always in mid October bow season. Get it while the getting is good, because post rut and late season hunting in that county is TOUGH!

Just beginning to see bucks chase does. Doe not receptive at all. Acorns on the ground and corn is second choice in trinity bottoms in freestone co.

Had 8 doe come in together sat morning. One doe came thru alone that had three bucks following and picked up another 8 that was on the feeder and joined the pursuit. Sat evening the only doe I saw had two bucks trailing her. I don't think the rut has hit full swing just yet on our place in freestone county (east of teague).
