Waiting on my Form 1. Gonna be a 10-10.5 5.56 barrel. What do y'all use for muzzle devices. Anything y'all could recommend that would help the sound (besides the obvious suppressor)? Would a standard A2 perform better than my current device, a BCM Mod0 compenstor? I've been considering the Noveske KX5 or PWS CQB since they seem to throw everything forward. I realize its going to be LOUD no matter what but what would be the quietest option

I think that without a suppressor, there wouldn't be an appreciable difference in any of them. Unless you use a muzzlebrake, then it's going to be REALLY LOUD!

The Flaming Pig and other concussion devices will be your best bet to throw the concussion and sound down range. It will give you the least felt/heard of the blast as it does a pretty good job of shooting it down range. A brake would only amplify the problem. I'd rather put a A2 on it than a brake.

Even with a suppressor, a 5.56 SBR is still loud. Especially when you get into really short barrels. Mine 7.5" barrel is not hearing safe or comfortable with a suppressor. So I use a KX3 to keep the blast in front of me.

Yea my 10.5" wasn't too bad with my YHM Phantom 30cal suppressor on it, but my little stubby 5.56 can it is not hearing safe it will still ring your bell LOL.

My 8" 300 blackout sbr is completely miserable without the suppressor. I think if you're not going to suppress just get a good flash hider and good ear protection.

Ear Pro isn't really an option. This is a work rifle and will be used at times when hearing protection isn't really an option... I will eventually suppress it but have to save for a house first.

Lantac Dragon. Not that quiet but does provide muzzle control.

Lantac Dragon. Not that quiet but does provide muzzle control. If we're talking muzzle control I can start a list of great options... but without ear pro the shooter's ears are going to bleed. JP Comp JP recoil eliminator SJC Titan AR Stoner copy of said SJC Titan Miculek Your rifle will be flat but your eardrums may burst.
The secret to a long life is to try not to shorten it.
