I tried this a few months ago without much luck so I thought I would try it again. I'm looking to hunt this invasive species in your state and bring a couple home for taxidermy. This is not a joke. I have read many articles about all the damage that they are doing in Texas. I've tried posting this on Craig's List but the animal rights folks flag it almost immediately. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. I am willing to pay for this hunt. Thanks for your help. Greg aka goosehunter51

There are plenty of those around the "five points" area of Dallas. I can sit at the fire station and watch them fly by and roost. If they are to be found in the wild maybe try some WMA or type 2 land on the east side of the metroplex.

Very much an urban land bird. Very rarely will you find them in large numbers outside of urban situations.

Only place I've ever seen that bird in the wild is the Whiterock/Lakewood area in Dallas. I've never seen one where you could use a firearm.

There's healthy populations of raptors all over Texas, could be one of the reasons the bird isn't sighted in rural settings. I've seen dove, ducks and other bird species picked off by wild raptors during hunts and bird surveys, a bright green bird would be easy pickin's for a sharpshin or red tail.

Look up the county GW in the areas you want to hunt and explain what you want to do. If there are populations in their county that can be hunted, they should be able to put you on some birds.

Why do you want a stuffed Quaker ?

Even though they are not protected ( that I know of ) and there is no season I would ask a game warden before doing this.
